I’m Bertie and I’ve been enjoying the wilderness for as long as I can remember, ever since my father used to take me out hunting when I was a kid. My most adventurous trip to date is an epic trek through the Simien Mountains in Ethiopia!
These days I live in the city but I still get out whenever I can. I remember how difficult it was when I first started hiking in the backcountry; but over the years it has gotten easier and easier with the more experience I have. My buddies Ewan, Randall and Abi help me run this site which we created to help more people get comfortable with the outdoors and get back in touch with nature.
We believe that with the right planning, research and preparation you can take a lot of the hard work out of camping, backpacking and hiking. And that means you can have more time to enjoy the experience, your surroundings and the company of your friends.
